Acceptable Use Policy

1. Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of Hivebrain and applies to all users of our knowledge base platform at https://hivebrain.co.uk (the "Service").

This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms and Conditions. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this policy.

You agree to use the Service responsibly and in compliance with all applicable laws. You must:

  • Spreads misinformation that could cause harm
  • Is designed to deceive or manipulate

4. Prohibited Activities

You must not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, or networks
  • Probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities without authorisation
  • Interfere with security features or access controls
  • Share account credentials with unauthorised persons
  • Use automated tools to access the Service without permission

4.2 System Abuse

  • Overload or disrupt the Service infrastructure
  • Send spam or unsolicited communications
  • Use the Service for cryptocurrency mining
  • Store or distribute pirated software or media
  • Circumvent usage limits or restrictions

4.3 Commercial Misuse

  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorisation
  • Use the Service to operate competing products
  • Scrape or harvest data from the Service
  • Use the Service for unsolicited advertising

5. User Accounts and Access

Account administrators are responsible for:

  • Ensuring all users under their account comply with this AUP
  • Managing user access and permissions appropriately
  • Promptly removing access for former employees or contractors
  • Reporting any security incidents or policy violations

6. Data and Storage

When using the Service for data storage:

  • Stay within your plan's storage limits
  • Do not store highly sensitive data (e.g., payment card numbers, health records) unless appropriate security measures are in place
  • Maintain your own backups of critical data
  • Ensure you have the right to store and share any uploaded content

7. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to us immediately:

We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

8. Enforcement

We reserve the right to:

8.2 Actions

If we determine a violation has occurred, we may take any or all of the following actions:

  • Issue a warning to the account holder
  • Remove or disable access to violating content
  • Suspend the account temporarily
  • Terminate the account permanently
  • Report the violation to law enforcement

We will endeavour to provide notice before taking action, except where:

  • Immediate action is needed to prevent harm
  • Notice would compromise an investigation
  • We are prohibited by law from giving notice

9. Appeals

If you believe we have taken action against your account in error, you may appeal by contacting us with:

  • A clear explanation of why you believe the action was incorrect
  • Any relevant evidence supporting your position

We will review appeals fairly and respond within 14 days.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
